Please note that Stallion Permissions are listed on the Irish Pony Society website and will be updated as applications are received in the office.  This list will be checked prior to the date of our show, as insurance will be null and void should an incident occur in an IPS affiliated class involving a stallion without permission from the IPS Council.

1st and 2nd placed competitors in the classes listed below qualify for the relevant final; Elite Final (Show Pony) or  Prestige Final (Show Hunter) at The Irish Pony Society Summer Championships which will be held on July 31st & August 1st in Mullingar Equestrian Centre. Competitors must be IPS members and ponies registered with the Irish Pony Society prior to championships to be eligible to compete at the final.

For ponies, mares or geldings, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 123cms, suitable for and to be ridden by riders who have attained their 3rd birthday but have not attained their 8th birthday on 1st January of current year. First and second placed in this class will be eligible for The Mini-Championship & The Anna Cantwell Cup. 1st and 2nd placed competitors in the classes listed below qualify for the Elite final at The Irish Pony Society Summer Championships which will be held on July 31st & August 1st in Mullingar Equestrian Centre. Competitors must be IPS members and ponies registered with the Irish Pony Society prior to championships to be eligible to compete at the final. Riders in this class may not compete in any other class with the exception of any other Lead Rein, Beginner First Ridden, Working Hunter Lead Rein or Beginner Cradle Stakes Classes. a) Ponies must be shown in snaffle bridles. They must be led by persons aged 16 years and over and should be on a loose rein and will be required to trot. b)The attendant must affix the lead rein to the noseband where it must remain while the pony is in the ring. c)The reins must go directly from the bit to the rider’s hand. A balancing strap may be attached to the front of the saddle. The ability of the rider should be taken into consideration when judging this class. Knots on individual reins are permissible. However, reins may NOT be knotted together in order to shorten them. Grass reins are not allowed. d)Riders will not be asked to dismount. Rosettes 1st to 8th place and thereafter, special rosettes will be awarded. A Best-Turned-Out rosette will also be awarded.
