Our Theme for 2024 #ClonmelShowBuzz

This year, the Clonmel Show is back with a bang! On World Bee Day (20th May), the Clonmel Show launched their 2024 theme “Clonmel Show Buzz” in conjunction with the South Tipperary Beekeeping Association.

“Clonmel is Cluain Meala in Irish which translates to Valley of Honey. We felt it was only right to celebrate and promote honeybees, biodiversity and Clonmel’s history of honey making”, said committee member Nicholas Ryan.

“To do this, we are showcasing local honey producersand garden centres and how to help pollinators like honey bees. We are also promoting biodiversity by encouraging the public to post photos or videos of their flowers online with #ClonmelShowBuzz to be in with a chance to win family passes to the show or vouchers for local garden centres”. The flower schedule reflects this year’s theme, with more bee-friendly flower and photography classes included.

As well as this, Clonmel Show hosted 10 local primary schools for their “mini show” in John Paul Park in Clonmel on 31st May. The children had a great time meeting sheep, calves, donkeys and ponies while learning about biodiversity and how they can help the environment. The schools were challenged to name a sheep to win a prize. There were great enteries like Woolverine, W.O.O.L.I.A.M and Baabara.

With live entertainment, a diverse food village, top class showjumping and livestock shows and plenty of entertainment for children, the Clonmel Show is one of the biggest agricultural and horse shows in the country and a great family day out!

This year’s show is 7th July in Powerstown Racecourse. To buy tickets, please visit www.clonmelshow.ie where discounted family tickets are available.
